Jen holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia, and a Master's of Education in Special Education from Lesley University where she trained within the selective Lesley-Brookline Schools Collaborative. Jen's passion for She began her career as an education professional in 1995, as the lead (and sole) teacher of a 2-day a week 2-year old class in Fayetteville, GA. Since her first teaching job, Jen has worked as a service provider in an independent school for students with learning disabilities, taught in kindergarten, 1st and 4th grades, was a learning specialist in a K-8 school and then 5-8 middle school, provided behavioral consulting and behavior therapy supervision for early intervention and supplementary services in Massachusetts, and has worked privately at J.Hursey Consulting since 2008 with individuals, families and organizations. She is a talented and skilled diagnostician, who in collaboration with Sally Madden, PhD provides valuable exceptional assessment services, including behavioral observation, cognitive testing, neurocognitive testing, academic achievement testing, behavioral rating scale analysis and projective testing. In Jen's work to identify and address concerns, Jen relies on her training and expertise in the fields of Child Development, Elementary Education and Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Positive Psychology, as well as the practices team-based approach to serve each client. Additionally, Jen is a trained cogmed coach.
